Funding

 

 

Visual Arts Fellowship
Aims to assist exceptional mid-career Australian visual and media arts, craft and design practitioners to undertake a self directed program of professional development.Two $20,000 fellowships are open to individual mid-career artists and groups.

Closes September 23

 

Jetstar Flying Start
Each grant will be worth $30,000, comprising $15,000 cash and $15,000 worth of Jetstar travel.

Applications close 30 September

 

 

Australia Council for the Arts has a funding round closing on 3 October 2017. Grants available include:

 

  • Career Development Grants
    If you are an individual artist, arts worker or group of artists, a Career Development Grant can provide support to further develop your skills or improve your capacity to build an enduring career in the arts. Career Development grants are available from $5,000 to $25,000. 
     

  • Arts Projects - Individuals and groups
    Our Arts Projects program funds a range of activities that deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public, including national and international audiences. Grants are available from $10,000 to $50,000.
     

  • Arts Projects - Organisations
    Our Arts Projects program funds a range of activities that deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public, including national and international audiences. Organisations that undertake arts programs, projects or that provide services to artists are welcome to apply. Grants are available from $10,000 to $100,000.
     

  • Contemporary Music Touring Program
    The Contemporary Music Touring Program (CMTP) supports national touring activity undertaken by Australian musicians performing original contemporary music. It provides travel support of up to $15,000 for artists and their manager for tours in Australia that include performances in regional and remote areas.  Up to an additional $15,000 can be requested for tours that meet the conditions for remote and very remote touring
     

  • Regional Performing Arts Touring
    The Regional Performing Arts Touring program supports performing arts to reach regional and remote communities across Australia. Grants are available to support the net touring costs associated with a national tour. There is no limit on the amount that can be requested. 
     

  • International Residencies Program
    The International Residencies Program enables the artistic development of individual artists and groups by brokering and offering high quality residency experiences.

 

NAVA Grants (NB. You will need to sign up for a free NAVA membership to view these grants)

  • New South Wales Artists’ Grant
    Individual applicants are eligible to apply for funding of up to $1,250 +GST. Group applications are eligible to apply for funding of up to $2,500 +GST. Applications close 21 November
     

  • Australian Artists' Grant
    Individual applicants were are to apply for funding of $1000 + GST. Group applications are eligible to apply for funding of up to $1,500 + GST. Applications close 4 November


Copyright Agency Cultural Fund



Create Career Fund

 

Author Fellowship
The Copyright Agency will award $80,000 to a mid to late career author for a 12 month period to develop and create work. Applications close 25 September

 

Community Presenter Regional Touring Grant

The purpose of the Community Presenter Touring Grant is to extend the reach of professional productions to smaller towns and remote communities in NSW that do not have a professional performing arts venue, by providing funds towards the performance fee of touring productions. Applications close 25 September

 

 

Opportunities

 

The Shirl – National Youth Portrait Prize
$10,000 acquisitive biannual portrait prize for artists aged between 16 -25. Bega Valley Regional Gallery. Entries close 8 Sept 2017

 

Firstdraft Program Callout

Firstdraft’s call-out for artists, curators and writers is now open for February 2018 - July 2018. Their mission is to support artists from diverse backgrounds, and the creation of new and experimental work. The new programs to support regional NSW and interstate artists means that you may be eligible for additional financial support.  Applications close at midnight 10 September 2017
