Edward River Council and South West Arts are encouraging local businesses and community groups to start planning activities for Deni Fest 2018.
The arts and culture festival was a huge success when it was held for the first time at Easter this year, with locals and visitors taking advantage of the wide range of events on offer.
Edward River Council are keen for more of the community to be involved as the festival grows this year, with Tourism & Economic Development Manager, Michelle Cobb, saying, ‘This is a fabulous opportunity to showcase the creativity of the Deniliquin community and gives everyone a chance to see the arty side of Deniliquin over Easter’.
Deni Fest 2018 will include the Rotary Easter Art Show, the ArtOut artisan market, a free picnic concert from South West Music and performances from the Deniliquin Bush Poets Society. Local hotels, clubs and cafes will once again put the focus on live music events, which were so well attended last year.
Sivonne Binks, from South West Arts, said ‘The great things about Deni Fest is it is a community collaboration, bringing together the activities of many local businesses and groups to create one big weekend of arts and culture’.
South West Arts is encouraging local businesses and community groups to get involved by including arts and culture activities in their shops and venues over the weekend.
‘There are so many things you could do, such as host a live band in your shop or café, hire an artist to hold a casual art class in your business or turn your store window into a gallery space. We are keen to see lots of different things’.
Deni Fest will run from Thursday 29 March to Monday 2 April 2018.
If your business or group would like to include an activity in the Deni Fest program, please contact South West Arts on 03 5881 7749.
