Artist in Residence: Jennifer Croft at The Foundry

Renowned leatherwork artist Jennifer Croft will be The Foundry's artist in residence from 25 April until 20 May. Jenni's Leatherwork career began when she was 18, through working at a local saddlery. Initally she became self taught through endless exploration of the materials and techniques involved. Jenni inspiration comes from a deep love for animals and birds and begins each piece with a blank piece of leather on which she is able to draw, carve, sculpt and colour.

Jenni will hold workshops for the general public on Saturday's 28 April, 5 May, 12 May and 19 May – 10am to 2pm at a cost of $40 plus materials.

Learn the art of stamping, carving, embossing, wet moulding, plaiting, hand sewing, etc. Leather is a very diverse medium, and you will learn different techniques while creating your own leather product such as belts, wallets, purses, pouches, cusions, bags, photo album covers, bridles, reins, whips and even a saddle.
